Oscar performed an original poem, “Queerphobia; or, Love, Restricted” at the Los Angeles County Youth Poet Laureate Awards Ceremony (June 2018). He was named the 2018-19 Poet Laureate and received a book deal with Penmanship Books.

Oscar performed an original poem, “Justice, called Revolution” at the 2018 John Anson Ford Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Los Angeles Commission on Human Relations. The ceremony honored Los Angeles activists.

“Justice, called Revolution” was published online in 2021 on Transforming Horizons: Stories from the QTAPI Community, presented by API Equality-LA (APIELA) and Viet Rainbow of Orange County (VROC).

Oscar performed an original poem, “Sermon of the Sowers”, inspired by Octavia E. Butler’s novel, Parable of the Sower, alongside other artists and creators at The Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in the President’s Series: Octavia E. Butler’s Parables: A Music Talk with Toshi Reagon (January 2020).
